A virtual landscape that is fully navigable from an internet browser using mouse and arrow keys, the_round takes its name from an enigmatic earthwork in a field near Helford in Cornwall.. The landscape includes a realistic 3D model of Meneage Methodist Church. The church overlooks a representation of the Mouth of Hell, which, placed within the round, is based on the theatrical conventions of the medieval Cornish Mystery Plays.
the_round was made for the NSA exhibition 'Site-Non-Site' at Kestle Barton Centre for Rural Art. It can be entered from the link below, and navigated using mouse and arrow keys.
